Knew it was a good idea to hang on to this mannequin!  Not looking forward to pinning all the bias tape though.

  3. Small progress stuff.  Make a quiver using a cardboard base and faux leather vinyl.  For the cardboard, I used a piece cut from a heavy duty shipping box and hot glued the vinyl on top.  It’s actually very sturdy.

The jarate jar was just one of those gummy vitamin jars with the label peeled off and cap spray painted gold.  I don’t trust myself to carry a glass mason jar around so this plastic one has a similar shape without being easily breakable.

  4. Anonymous asked: Ok, so I probably sound like a creeper... But I was looking through the "Cosplay WIP" tag and saw your amazing TF2 Sniper WIP. You said you got the glasses and hat on ebay! Do you happen to still have the links? *u* That hat is perfection.

Hahahah don’t worry, cosplay questions don’t make you a creeper!

The glasses I bought from this listing:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/180926788270?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

One thing is, when I first ordered the glasses, the seller sent me the wrong style [it came with brown frames instead of black].  So make sure you check your item as soon as you get it and contact the seller if there’s an issue.  They sent me the correct style very promptly free of charge so their service is good!

As for the hat, I bought it used so the listing’s gone, but the brand is Minnetonka in the brown colour:

At full price it’ll probably be $40-50.  I looked on ebay, it doesn’t look like there’s any listings currently, but keep checking up on it.  Etsy is another place to look [if you send me an un-anon pm I can give you the listing since there’s only one left].  It’ll probably be between $20-30 for a used one.  They’re made of leather so it’s more expensive but the quality is much better.

  5. Everything has come in the mail!  The gloves and glasses I bought off of ebay [free shipping too].  I still need to finish the vest.

And there’s my Sir Hootsalot that Anicofe game me.  Thanks mate.

All that’s left in the ‘buy list’ is glasses, gloves, patches, bullets, and leather/vinyl for the rest of the costume.  The pants are actually a dark olive color which doesn’t show in this picture.  The shirt I was lucky enough to get for free off ebay, the seller had accidentally marked it with a bit of glue on the sleeve when getting it ready for shipping [which doesn’t show because I roll them up].  So she offered a full refund and let me keep it.

  8. My sniper hat is on its way through the mail, managed to find the exact model I had been eyeing but at half the price!  And I just found the perfect shirt on ebay.

I’m also looking out to buy one of those tacky plastic bullet belts so I can dismantle it for the bullets in Sniper’s chest pocket.

Hopefully I’ll get the ‘buying stuff’ part out of the way now so I’ll have enough time to do the rest of the ‘making stuff’ part over winter break.

Bought some sniper pants from my work. His pants are some weird shade of green-brown-grey and I’m still not entirely sure what they are.

They were originally $54 but I got them for $16. All I need to do is tailor the bottoms and I’m set. My university’s theater department also was selling off a bunch of old costume stuff but I didn’t find anything that I would need.
